Car Insurance Geo (Car Insurance). What is a good reliable car for a single mom? What is a good reliable car for a single mom? I am sick of having to spend so much money to keep my car running. Can anyone tell what kind of car is safe and reliable that I won't have to put a lot of money into? It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net 1. All cars must pass the same safety requirements. So no particular car is going to be more "safe" than another. Even if you buy a Humvee, you can still get hit by an 18 wheeler, so it's not like any car is going to do a better job protecting you than another. Check out the Subaru Forester. I've driven Subaru for years and now own three different models. My wife has the Forester as do many folks with kids and other stuff to haul here and there on a daily basis. The maintenance costs are the same as most cars but Subaru seldom has any problems that require expensive repairs or replacements. They are famous for that. Also it is always at or near the very top of annual safety ratings. 30 mpg would be normal around town. Go for a Hyundai. Pro-Baby, Pro-Baby, :-) Auto parts : Liquid Transfer Pump Acura 1995 . Geo . 944 Fuel Pump ReplacementPorsche produced its 944 model from 1983 through 1991. The 944 came equipped with either a normally aspirated engine or a turbo engine. The manufacturer powered every 944 with a water-cooled, four-cylinder engine. The fuel pump on the 944 model is a key component within the fuel injection system. Fuel pump replacement may be required due to damage or failure. Total or partial failure of the fuel pump will negatively impact the performance and gas mileage of the car. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Battery terminal wrench Floor Jack Jack stand Lug wrench Fuel line lock Catch tray Screwdriver Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Using the battery terminal wrench, detach the negative battery cable from the battery. 2 Raise the rear passenger side of the car off the ground and secure with a jack stand. Remove the passenger side rear tire by using the lug wrench. 3 Using a small metric wrench, loosen and remove the two nuts securing the electrical connectors. Remove the two electrical connectors from the fuel pump. 4 Secure the line lock tool on the fuel line from the gas tank near the connection to the fuel pump. Place the catch tray directly under the fuel pump. 5 Remove the hose clamp with a screwdriver that secures the fuel line connecting the fuel pump to the engine. Pull the fuel line away from the fuel filter to disconnect it from the fuel filter. 6 Loosen and remove the hose clamp securing the fuel line from the gas tank to the fuel pump. Pull the fuel line away from the fuel pump to disconnect the fuel line. 7 Use a small metric wrench to loosen the clamp securing the fuel filter to the inner fender well. Lift the fuel pump vertically to remove the fuel pump from the car. 8 Insert the new fuel pump into the fuel pump bracket and tighten using a small metric wrench. Replace the two electrical connectors and tighten the nuts with a wrench to secure the connectors. 9 Replace both of the fuel lines on the fuel pump and tighten the hose clamps with a screwdriver. Step by Step : 10 Remove the line lock on the fuel line from the gas tank. Remove the catch tray from under the fuel pump and properly dispose of any gas. Step by Step : 11 Replace the tire and tighten each lug nut to 90 foot pounds of torque with a torque wrench. Use the floor jack to safely remove the jack stand and return the vehicle to ground level. Step by Step : 12 Reattach the negative battery cable to the battery and tighten the connector using the battery terminal wrench. Tips & Warnings Removing the rear tire provides easier access to the fuel pump located in the fender well. Always verify the fuel system is not leaking gas by visually inspecting all connection points on the fuel pump after performing any work on the fuel system.
Geo . How to Replace a Mazda B2200 Fuel PumpThe fuel pump in a Mazda B2200 delivers fuel to the engine from the gas tank. When the fuel pump goes out, the gasoline in the tank has no way to get to the engine, and the truck won't be able to start. Fixing the problem involves a lot of work, including dropping the gas tank just to get to the fuel pump itself. This isn't a technically difficult process, but it can take a long time to do depending on your level of experience. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands 2-foot-long wood block 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and socket set Flathead screwdriver Replacement fuel pump Fuel filter Replacement rubber seal gasket Step by Step : 1 Lift up the truck using the jack and place the vehicle on four jack stands so that there is enough room underneath the truck for you to move around freely. Crawl underneath the vehicle and use the flathead screwdriver to remove the hose clamp around the connection between the gas filler neck and the gas tank. 2 Place the wood block onto the head of the jack. Lift up the jack until it contacts the bottom of the gas tank. Unbolt the straps holding the tank in place using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets, then lower the tank from the vehicle with the jack. Disconnect the hose clamps holding the fuel lines to the top of the fuel pump/sending unit assembly with the flathead screwdriver and pull the gas tank out from under the truck. 3 Unbolt the fuel pump/sending unit from the gas tank using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Unplug the wiring from the assembly and carefully pull the assembly out of the gas tank. 4 Pull the fuel filter off of the bottom of the fuel pump. Disconnect the hose clamp securing the fuel hose to the fuel pump and unplug any connections. Install the replacement fuel filter onto the replacement fuel pump and install them as an assembly onto the fuel hose that's on the fuel pump/sending unit. 5 Reinstall the fuel pump/sending unit assembly onto the gas tank, making sure to install a new rubber seal between the assembly and the tank. Reattach the fuel lines and lift the gas tank back in place with the jack. Attach the tank to the frame using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets, then reattach the filler neck using a flathead screwdriver. Tips & Warnings Never smoke or have an open flame nearby while you're working on the fuel system of a vehicle. If you do, you risk causing a fire and damaging yourself and the vehicle. You must know which system of measurement your engine is based on. Originally, most for eign vehicles (except British ones, which had their own thread standard) were based on the metric system, while domestic engines used SAE stan dards based on fractions of an inch. Today, most American vehicles have a mix of SAE and metric nuts and bolts. Foreign cars or foreign components 154

These wrenches come in sets of several sizes, and each wrench is made to fit a nut of a specific size, whichever end you use. See the sidebar "How to use Geo . How much horsepower in a 1998 M3 coupe?

Called offset wrenches, these are good for working in hard-to-reach spots. You may want to add a couple to your tool kit. The most useful offset wrench is the distributor wrench, shown in Figure 2-5, which you use to adjust your car's timing. (You need this tool only if your car has a non-electronic ignition system.) Be sure to get one to fit the distributor hold-down clamp on your vehicle. Part I: Getting Started. Figure 2-5: An offset distributor wrench is probably the most useful offset wrench. Geo .
